Are You Ready for the Challenges and Opportunities of the Future?

Global demographic and migration changes are increasingly impacting the Polish labor market. An aging society, negative population growth, and difficulties in accessing the right skills in the labor market are forcing leaders and managers to undertake strategic actions. Poland, like many other countries in the past, faces a choice: increasing productivity and efficiency through automation and artificial intelligence or the necessity of attracting workers from abroad. Most likely, a combination of both strategies will be required.

Challenges and opportunities for leaders to be aware of:

1️⃣ 800 million young people in developing countries may remain unemployed within the next 10 years. Migration will become inevitable—Poland, as a country with a shrinking workforce, must take a strategic approach to acquiring international workers.

2️⃣ 59% of the global workforce in 2050 will come from developing countries. These regions offer the potential for a new labor force but require international collaboration to harness this opportunity.

3️⃣ Aging societies in Poland and other developed countries pose a challenge that requires comprehensive action. Currently, 52% of employers believe that the shrinking labor force will negatively impact their operations.

4️⃣ Skill shortages in the labor market: 65% of employers struggle with recruiting people with the right qualifications. However, companies that invest in the development of their teams can effectively build a competitive advantage.

5️⃣ Automation as a solution: 79% of companies plan to accelerate the implementation of new technologies to mitigate the effects of workforce shortages. Automation and new technologies can not only address labor shortages but also improve operational efficiency.

6️⃣ Investing in people: 85% of companies indicate that skill development (reskilling and upskilling) is key to survival and growth. Leaders who prioritize competencies will be better prepared for the future.

💡 The future of the Polish labor market depends on our readiness to act.

Increasing efficiency, integrating foreign workers, and developing team skills are challenges we need to address now to effectively face them and seize emerging opportunities.
