The latest Gallup report on employee engagement.

Only 8% of employees in Poland are engaged at work. Is this really our new normal?

Gallup has just published its State of the Global Workplace 2025 report.Unfortunately, we are at the bottom of the list in Europe. But it’s not the end of the world — it’s a moment to ask: what can we, and do we want to, do about it?

Poland compared to Europe and the world:

🔹 Engagement: only 8% (EU: 13%, Global: 21%)

🔹 Life satisfaction: 40% (EU: 47%)

🔹 Workplace stress: 23% (EU: 38%) – a positive outlier

🔹 Perception that it’s a good time to find a job: 52%

🔹 Actively looking for a new job: only 23% – one of the lowest rates in the EU

Gallup points to leadership quality and employee experience as the key drivers. This isn’t about isolated frustrations — it’s a systemic challenge.

According to the report, the main reasons behind low engagement levels are:

🔹 Relationship with the manager – the biggest driver of engagement. It’s not about control, but about trust, presence, and understanding

🔹 Lack of voice and influence in decision-making

🔹 Unclear work purpose and lack of meaning

🔹 Development issues – lack of feedback, mentoring, and career paths

🔹 Organizational culture that prioritizes targets at all costs over wellbeing

But there is good news, too.

🔹 Low stress and low employee mobility could be an advantage — if......we manage to rebuild trust in the workplace. We don’t need mass resignations — we need a return to real relationships, meaning, and community at work.

🔹 Managers have the greatest influence on the future of work. Their actions can positively impact the current situation — not by “managing” people, but by being partners, mentors, and leaders who know how to listen, inspire, and create space for shared growth.

🔹 Organizations can change faster than we think.

If we treat this data not as an accusation but as a call to action, Poland can move from the bottom to the top — not through perks, but through authentic leadership.

And you?

Do people in your company feel heard and seen?

Do your leaders inspire or just enforce?

Does your organization bring people together around purpose — or just around goals?

If this topic resonates with you, I encourage you to read Gallup’s full report (link below). It’s not just data — it’s a mirror clearly showing where we are and where we can go next.
